Update! Headwaters is not offering the Social Change Fund this year. However, please click here to learn more about our Giving Project Grant. Similar to the Social Change Fund, the Giving Project Grants provides $10,000 in general operating support for organizations that use a community organizing approach to address root causes of injustice.
The Giving Project Grant is offered once a year. The next opportunity to apply for a Giving Project Grant will be in the Spring of 2019.
Since 1984, Headwaters has supported organizations addressing the root causes of oppression by advancing equity and justice through community organizing and systems change. We have prioritized community organizing as a key strategy because we believe that durable and sustainable change is possible when the people most affected by systems of oppression are at the center of leadership and decision-making within a community.
For over 30 years Headwaters has focused on supporting four interconnected yet distinct justice areas: social, racial, environmental, and economic justice.
If you are unsure about where or if you should apply, please review the Frequently Asked Questions or contact Headwaters Senior Program Officer Melissa Rudnick.
