Community Conversation Statewide Tour - Next Up: Greater MN

As part of Headwaters’ Statewide Tour, we’ve now held Community Conversations throughout the Twin Cities and in the Greater Mankato Area. In April and May, we’ll visit with past, current, and potential grantees and partners in Grand Rapids, White Earth Nation, Gaa-waabaabiganikaag, Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, Nagaajiwanaang/Duluth, and Saint Cloud area's.

We invite grantees and partners in these areas to join us for an in-person Community Conversation (details below).

The Community Conversation Statewide Tour is an opportunity for grantees and partners to help shape and influence our path moving forward and we think about Headwaters’ role in supporting organizations and movements advancing equity and justice throughout Minnesota.

The purpose of these conversations is to engage past, current and potential grantees and partners and generates ideas about:

  • How Headwaters can strengthen our grantmaking and capacity building programs
  • How Headwaters can best support movements and convene community for equity and justice, beyond grantmaking
  • How the broader philanthropic foundation community can better support community organizing

Additionally, these conversations are an opportunity for grantees and partners to help us get to know your community -- What work is happening around equity, justice and community problem-solving? What unique opportunities and challenges face your community?

Lastly, this is a space to learn about Headwaters’ strategic plan, vision, and opportunities for engagement, and to strengthen relationships with fellow Headwaters’ grantees.

Space is limited, so please send no more than two staff members to the Community Conversation close to you. We suggest attendance from the Executive Director or organizing/program staff.

Contact Senior Program Officer, Melissa Rudnick, with any questions.
