About the Artist
NICO SARDINA is a Minneapolis based screen printer. He operates Kuya Print Co., a print shop focused on local fundraising and artist exhibitions. Formerly concentrated on material experimentation through screenprinting and animation, he now spends his time thinking about production under capitalism, commodity fetishism, and the place of a brand new t-shirt in a global context. This year he spent a month hand shearing sheep. He can be found at kuyaprint.co, both as a website and on instagram.
About the Artwork
FROM NENOKAASI TO PALESTINE, SOLIDARITY!
Camp Nenookaasi is a Minneapolis healing camp for unhoused neighbors rooted in native practices. Its struggle against the ongoing illegalization of homelessness fundamentally stands aligned with the anti-colonial, anti-genocidal, struggle in Palestine. Though those in power would try to convince us these two struggles are not united, it’s important to remember that we fight the same beast. The beast tries to hide itself behind passing time, but America is as actively a settler colony as the efforts of Israel in Palestine.
