Toxic Taters Coalition

Grantee Year:

98% of the potato crops covering over 50,000 acres in Minnesota, are grown using chemically intensive conventional methods.  Fields are aerially sprayed with pesticides every 5-10 days throughout the growing season. It isn’t possible to contain the toxins used. Toxins wind up in the air, soil, and water. Community members living around the potato fields experience damage to crops, livestock, and their health.  Toxic Taters Coalition was formed because people who live around the fields and are sick of getting sick. Their mission is to protect the land, air, water, and community for generations to come.
