The Food Equity Program serves the self-identified needs of low-income families in south St. Anthony Park. Their community garden delivers free healthy foods to nearby Section 8 housing where many immigrants and people with disabilities cannot access affordable healthy foods. St. Anthony Park Community Council is expanding its food shelf program to improve health equity throughout St. Anthony Park. They will work with low-income residents and partners to assess the food gaps and strategies to implement a sustainable, healthy, and culturally relevant food delivery program or local food hub as identified to best serve this community. They are partnering with Hampden Co-op, Wilder Mobile Market, Brightside Produce and others to improve food access throughout the year.
