Grantee Year:

Release MN8 fights against unjust deportations that separate families. Its mission is to provide direct support to Southeast Asian families impacted by detention and deportation through community organizing and leadership development to bring about social and political change.

Release MN8 will host legal clinics and workshops to share community organizing best practices from the Southeast Asian American Solidarity Toolkit. With support from criminal and defense attorneys along with law students, staff will provide legal training and assistance and build a base of impacted persons to advocate for the protection of rights of and defend immigrant and refugee families. These legal clinics and workshops will serve as a pilot to inform a multi-year strategy of how Release MN8 will continue to provide direct support to impacted people and their families.
