MPD150 launched on the occasion of the Minneapolis Police Department’s 150th anniversary to tell the story of the past and present reality of the Minneapolis Police, and to imagine and work towards a police-free future. It is comprised of participatory teams of local organizers, researchers, artists, and activists.
Now entering the third and final phase of its MPD150 Project, the collective will keep building momentum it began in 2017. MPD150 will share materials it has developed over the past two years, and plans to produce new cultural and educational activities rooted in its strategic vision. Members will create classroom lesson plans, continue showing its “Making It Real: Our History with Police and Our Future Without Them” art exhibit, and support a documentary film project based on its work.
