Grassroots Indigenous Multimedia (GIM) exists to connect language resources, materials, and teaching support to the diverse needs of the language revitalization community. Established in 2000, GIM works to close the gap between  language learners and fluent speakers of indigenous languages.

GIM plans to implement the Ojibwe Media Player, a platform and interactive smartphone app designed to support a child’s language learning. The Player fuses modern technology and traditional culture, and GIM is working to make sure that families, teachers, and community members use it both in the classroom and at home.
