Giving Project grants
Headwaters is offering Giving Project grants to support organizations that are led by and for Black people, Indigenous people, and People of Color (BIPOC) and use a community organizing approach to address root causes of injustice.
The 2020 Giving Project Grant supports community organizing work across Minnesota. Organizations led by and for BIPOC can apply online. Eligible organizations will have an organized constituency base; and specific goals and strategies to build power in their communities in order change systems and advance justice.
Participants of the 2020 Giving Project will raise all grant funds. The cross-class, multiracial cohort will spend six months raising money from their friends, families, and communities. They will also lead the Giving Project grant grantmaking process.
$15,000 general operating support.
January 9, 2020 through 5 p.m. on February 6, 2020.

We strongly recommend attending an Information Session. Applicants will want to review the criteria and guidelines well in advance of the February 6 grant deadline. This way you can make sure your group meets eligibility requirements and funding criteria; and that you have time to get all of the required documents to complete the application. Program staff will not accept late or incomplete applications.
