White Earth Land Recovery Project Greater Minnesota
The mission of the White Earth Land Recovery Project is to facilitate the recovery of the original land base of the White Earth Indian Reservation while preserving and restoring traditional practices of sound land stewardship, language fluency, community development, and strengthening our spiritual and cultural heritage.

Fund of the Sacred Circle
Fund of the Sacred Circle invests in Native-led organizations that use a community organizing approach to advance justice on a wide variety of issues including sovereignty; community health and wellbeing; education and engagement; and preservation of language, culture, land, water, and lifeways.
Giving Project Grants
Giving Project Grants support BIPOC-led organizations that use community organizing approach to address root causes of injustice. Headwaters has been offering Giving Project Grants since 2015.
Communities First Fund
Communities First Fund grants supported BIPOC-led organizations, responding to the immediate COVID-19-related needs in their communities during the early weeks and months of the pandemic.
Community Innovation Grants
Community Innovation Grants were offered until 2021 in partnership with the Bush Foundation. Grants supported communities to use problem solving processes that lead to more effective, equitable, and sustainable solutions.
