Foster Advocates is not just our name; it’s our mission. We foster advocacy, policy change, and organizing by partnering with Fosters and impacted communities. We envision a Minnesota where everyone involved in the state’s foster care system has the same access to opportunities and outcomes as their peers, and Foster voices are respected and community expertise is sought in every aspect of the child welfare system. We use the term Foster to name and claim this unique identity, akin to other immutable characteristics, and acknowledge the impact of the foster care system never ends.
