Abena brings her deep roots in community to co-leading the Black Movement Ecosystem (BME) at HFJ in partnership with the larger community. BME invests in building the ecosystem of Black-led change and genius in Minnesota.
Abena comes from a background in community, labor, and immigrant justice organizing. She is also one of the co-founders of Black Immigrant Collective (BIC). In her free time, Abena loves to travel and trying new foods. She also spends a great deal of time being simultaneously excited and frustrated about the Minnesota Lynx and Minnesota Vikings.
