Eric Howard 1

Eric Howard came to the Headwaters board in 2021 with a heart for donor organizing. His experience in the Giving Project and on the foundation’s Development Committee deepened his identity as a Mexican-American and his connection to community-led grantmaking. Eric sees the long-term impact of movements when community voices, trust, and leadership development are at the center of funding decisions.

Eric has a background in faith-based community organizing and is passionate about communications, media, and storytelling as a tool for movement building. He currently works under the Bishop of the Minneapolis Area Synod, ELCA, and is board president of Exodus Lending. He is also earning a Master’s of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota to advance his work for equity and justice.

Eric lives in downtown Minneapolis and enjoys traveling, painting, and taking walks with his dog.
