Since 1984, Headwaters has been at the radical edge of philanthropy, boldly funding grassroots organizations that fight for justice in Minnesota. Our 40th anniversary is an opportunity to ground in our shared community, history, and vision for a just Minnesota.
On September 30, we'll gather with community to celebrate and reflect on the last 40 years of resourcing change in Minnesota, while looking ahead to the next 40 years of fighting for - and winning - collective liberation.
The evening will feature a conversation between Headwaters grantees about the past and future of Minnesota's movements. You'll hear from:
- Kevin Reese, Until We are All Free
- Emilia Gonzalez Avalos, Unidos MN
- Rhiana Yazzi, New Native Theater
- Roberto de la Riva, Inquilinxs Unidxs por Justicia
- Sana Wazwaz, American Muslims for Palestine - Minnesota
You'll also be able to learn about Headwaters' legacy and impact over the past four decades, experience live art by Studio Thalo capturing the evening's reflections and visions, and enjoy delicious food and drink provided by Abang Yoli and Steady Pour, including gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and nut-free options, as well as non-alcoholic drink options.
Whether you’re a long-time supporter or new to our community, we hope you’ll join us to honor the past, celebrate the present, and dream together for the next 40 years of work towards collective liberation.
Space is limited, so register today - children welcome!
